CASE STUDY

Invisible Differences, Melanie Onn, RenewableUK

Not all disabilities are visible, and in recognition of this, partly as a result of the curveball of the Covid-19 pandemic, RenewableUK has trained up its own army of mental health first aiders. In addition to the staff support assistance line, superb colleagues across the organisation have taken time out of their work in order to learn how to support their friends and co-workers should they find themselves having a testing time that impacts their mental health and well-being.  RenewableUK is a supportive workplace and is aware that there are many pressures on people outside of their working lives. For some, being at home for many months may have exacerbated that, particularly during isolation, which continues for some with serious underlying health issues. RenewableUK believes that Mental Health First Aiders are as essential to its working practices and traditional First Aiders and is grateful to those colleagues who put themselves forward.
