The Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC) has published a report today outlining the challenges to the consenting process for offshore wind projects in the UK.

RenewableUK, the Offshore Wind Industry Council, The Crown Estate and Crown Estate Scotland have published a detailed Industrial Growth Plan, setting out how to triple offshore wind manufacturing capacity over the next ten years, firmly establishing the UK as a leader in a surging global market.

A landmark partnership between RenewableUK and Energy and Utility Skills, the skills organisation for the UK’s energy and utilities industries, is being launched today to create the training and assessment standards needed to meet the UK’s renewable workforce demand.

To coincide with green careers week, the Offshore Wind Industry Council's pathways to growth workstream, which focuses on consenting and the environment, has launched a campaign with RenewableUK to raise awareness of careers in consenting.

Growing the UK’s supply chain for offshore wind represents a £92 billion opportunity to boost the UK’s economy by 2040, according to a report by the Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC) and the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP).
