This report forms part of the artificial nesting structure (ANS) work package and explores the feasibility of repurposing offshore structures as ANS to deliver seabird compensation for offshore wind projects, and identifies the steps required to progress this approach. It reviews the key barriers to repurposing offshore structures for seabird compensation and sets out a pathway for developing repurposing as a strategic compensation measure for the offshore wind sector. The accompanying roadmap (link provided below) outlines a six-phase process, detailing the key actions, responsible parties, and indicative timeframes for each phase.
